Dr. Amanda Della Penna attended veterinary school at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bethany College. Dr. Della Penna has worked in the Pittsburgh area most of her career. It has been her long-time dream to start Family Vet Care Center. Having spent the majority of her career in emergency medicine, it is Dr. Della Penna’s goal to bring the high level of skill and care needed in the ER into private practice to benefit your pets on a daily basis.
Dr. Della Penna’s special interests include surgery, emergency medicine, point-of-care ultrasound, and preventative medicine. In her free time, Dr. Della Penna enjoys snowboarding, nature, watching Pittsburgh Penguins hockey and The Ohio State Buckeyes football team. She has three cats, Dante, Giuseppi, and Julius.
Dr. Nicole Hladio received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Notre Dame. She proceeded to North Carolina State University where she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She has spent the last decade working in numerous clinics in the Pittsburgh area in both general practice and emergency medicine. She is thrilled to join the team at Family Vet Care Center!
Dr. Hladio’s professional interests include ophthalmology, soft tissue surgery, dentistry and emergency medicine. She resides in the South Hills of Pittsburgh with her constant doggie companion Benny as well as her cats, Bella, Mason, Henry, and Cookie.
Having grown up in Western Pennsylvania, she has a deep love of all sports. She enjoys outdoor activities, especially any activity that involves sand between her toes! In her spare time she enjoys traveling with her friends and spending time with her family.
Dr Madeline Leidy attended veterinary school at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. From there, she went on to complete a year long internship in Tucsan, Arizona. Her career since then has been split between emergency medicine & general practice.
Dr Leidy’s special interests include emergency medicine, preventative care & good client education and communication. In her free time, she enjoys boating on Pittsburgh rivers, staying active by both running & spending time in the gym, and antique shopping.
She has three dogs, Tonka, Penelope & Brady. She also has five cats, Monster, Link, Marshall, Todd & Tipsy.
Dr. John Tuttle joined Family Vet Care Center September 2021. A native of Lancaster, PA, Dr. Tuttle earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Pittsburgh before attending the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in Philadelphia, PA.
His clinical interests include internal medicine and dentistry. Dr. Tuttle feels very fortunate to work with such a gifted team and values the relationships he forms with clients and their pets. Outside of veterinary medicine Dr. Tuttle enjoys sports, exercising, playing guitar, astronomy, and exploring Pittsburgh with his wife, son, and daughter. His family also includes a Golden Retriever.
